Molecular kitchen workshop for local chefs

Belgrade, March 28, 2013- Swedish chefs Douglas Spiik and Dragan Unić, held a Molecular kitchen workshop for their Serbian colleagues. Molecular kitchen is the newest culinary trend, which represents new approach to food preparation and serving.


Douglas Spiik, member of culinary team of western Sweden and specialist of modern kitchen and molecular gastronomy and Dragan Unić, president of Association of Chefs of Western Sweden, are one of the most famous experts in this area. METRO Cash & Carry Serbia invited them to share their knowledge with Serbian chefs, presenting them how to prepare food and drinks using special physical, chemical and biochemical processes.

When you combine culinary with science, completely new, revolutionary trend grows, the trend which lately become new expression to many chefs, but also for the people who are ready to taste something new and unusual.
„During the preparation of meals we don't use chemicals, just natural ingredients which are regularly used in the kitchen. What makes molecular kitchen different, are  inventiveness and creativity of chefs, who creates illusion, surprise and attack to all senses“, said Douglas Spiik, adding that thanks to the molecular kitchen there are no boundaries in food preparation and the chefs who wants to use this technic has to be creative and open minded.

Chef of Serbian HoReCa Centre admitted to the World Master Chefs Society

Master chef Uros Urosevic, Head of the METRO HoReCa Centre of METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, is the first Serbian to have been admitted to the world’s most prestigious culinary association: the World Master Chefs Society in London. In Serbia, Uros Urosevic is respected for his efforts to develop the regional cuisine and promote it abroad.

  


Uros Urosevic, Head of the METRO HoReCa Centre of METRO Cash & Carry Serbia and master chef, is the first Serbian to be admitted to the World Master Chefs Society in London.
The World Master Chefs Society is the leading association of top-class chefs. It promotes the science, art and creativity of fine cuisine and offers educational programmes for professional chefs. As a member of the World Master Chefs Society, Uros Urosevic will be in constant touch with master chefs abroad and invite them to the Serbian HoReCa Centre of METRO Cash & Carry. The aim is to establish a close cooperation and an intensive exchange of experience between local and international chefs. “A special privilege for us is that we will continue to work with the most recognized experts in the field of gastronomy. My key task will be to pass on their knowledge as their counterpart in Serbia, and in particular share their best practices in the field of gastronomy through trainings at the METRO HoReCa Centre “, says Uros Urosevic on the occasion of receiving the honor.  
The HoReCa Centre of METRO Cash & Carry Serbia is a centre for education and the promotion of hospitality. Master chefs like Uros Urosevic offer seminars, trainings and workshops that are specifically tailored to the needs of the HoReCa sector. It was opened in spring 2013.
